The Importance of Custom Fabrication in Water Control Sluice Gates

Custom Fabrication in Water Management

We here at Whipps, Inc. understand the importance of custom fabrication in water control equipment. Our company provides high-quality, custom-fabricated sluice gates tailored to satisfy any application requirements. Precise water management is critical when it comes to flow, drainage, and treatment in several industries all over the world.

Customization plays a key role in guaranteeing efficiency and high-performance in our water control equipment. By designing and manufacturing sluice gates in-house, our skilled craftsmen and engineers customize our products to fit the unique challenges in our customers’ projects. Optimal performance and durability guaranteed. Whipps sluice gates are fabricated in compliance with AWWA standards, using premium materials to ensure longevity and resistance to corrosion while in operation.

What is a Sluice Gate?

Sluice gate is one of our most popular products, designed to regulate the flow of water in pipelines, channels, tunnels, etc.. Like our slide gates, these sluice gates feature a slide that travels through a rigid frame to prevent flow when required. The difference being the top seal that is added, or invert seal added to weir gates, that allows sealing to occur along all four sides of the opening. Utilizing UHMW seals/seats, our sluice gates boasts a leakage rate no more than 0.05 gpm/ft of seal in seating and unseating conditions. Whipps, Inc. has been a leader in manufacturing high-quality sluice gates for decades, delivering reliable solutions for even the most demanding environments.

Benefits of Custom-Made Sluice Gates

Custom-made sluice gates offer several key advantages for water control systems. Built to handle openings expecting full submergence, Whipps, Inc. sluice gates are commonly used in industrial, municipal, and wastewater treatment industries. These gates offer exceptional performance with low-leakage rates, providing enhanced performance and efficiency and ensuring optimal water regulation. Additionally, custom slide and sluice gates are designed for an accurate fit and smooth travel throughout operation to minimize the risk of malfunction. Safety, dependability, and effectiveness in water management systems is our expertise.

Customizable Mounting Options

Every industrial project comes with unique requirements, and Whipps, Inc. specializes in delivering custom solutions to meet those needs. Our sluice gates can be designed for various mounting configurations, ensuring seamless integration into both existing and new systems. Wall mounting is ideal for securing the gate directly to a concrete or steel wall, providing a stable and reliable installation. Channel mounting allows gates to fit into open channels, ensuring precise water flow regulation. Embedded mounting offers added durability and stability by integrating the gate within the structure itself. For more complex applications, thimble mounting enables secure connections to pipes or irregularly shaped openings.
