In-House Manufacturing for Superior Quality and Control

Unlike many of our competitors that rely on outsourced manufacturing, Whipps, Inc. has invested heavily in machinery and equipment to ensure better quality control and delivery management. Whipps Inc. water control gates are used across North America, including all 50 states and nine Canadian provinces. We have also supplied gates for international projects in several other countries. Orders range from a few small gates to dozens of large gates with complex operating systems, as well as a variety of fabricated equipment including slide gates, stop logs, flap gates, shear gates, mud valves, telescoping valves, and tilting weirs.

“Our goal is to be the most responsive and attentive supplier for our customers.”

George and Pauline Whipps founded our privately-owned company in 1977. Whipps, Inc. has grown steadily by offering high-quality, high-performance water control gates at competitive prices. Our headquarters in Athol, Massachusetts, is where we manufacture a variety of high-quality water control equipment. In 2000, we moved from our original location at 38 South Main Street to our current facility at 370 South Athol Road, which was expanded in 2008 to accommodate increased sales. Additional office and factory space is continued to be added as of 2024.

As a forward-thinking company, we are continuously working on projects that enhance our customization capabilities and support our growth. Whipps, Inc. specializes in manufacturing premium products with high performance, longevity, and leakage rates lower than AWWA standards. Our products remain customizable, avoiding bottlenecks in our manufacturing process. Notable milestones, such as the projects mentioned above, highlight our ongoing success in providing high-quality water control equipment.
