Stay Hydrated!
This is a topic discussed every summer in our newsletter! The heat paired with physical work being done here can be problematic if you do not listen to your body and stay hydrated.
Some tips to prevent heat stroke include:
- Wearing light clothing when possible
- Protect your skin with SPF
- Stay hydrated and avoid excess caffeine
- Take a break in a cool place
- Work in cool and/or shaded areas when possible

If you or a coworker begin to feel any of the following symptoms, communicate it to your supervisor, as you may be feeling the effects of heat stroke:
- Body temperature higher than 103 degrees
- Skin is hot, red, dry, or is sweating profusely
- Pulse is strong and rapid
- Feeling confused, slurring speech, displaying irrational behavior
- Headache, dizziness, vomiting, weakness
