14 Aug Closing Out Summer with Confidence in Water Control
A Message from Whipps: Last Bit of Summer
As August settles in and the last heat waves roll across the country, we’re reminded that summer always seems to go by too quickly. The evenings are getting shorter, schools are opening their doors, and many of us are trying to squeeze in a final trip to the beach, a cookout, or just a few more relaxing moments in the sun. But while summer may be winding down over the Labor Day weekend, the demand for reliable water control never takes a vacation.
At Whipps, Inc., we know that behind every cool drink of water, every splash in a public pool, and every air-conditioned room powered by a generating station, there’s an entire infrastructure of water control equipment working quietly in the background. From power plants to water treatment facilities, our gates and operators help regulate water levels and flow, ensuring that these critical systems operate smoothly throughout the hottest days of summer.

Understanding the Legal Framework for Environmental Projects
Keeping Cool with Reliable Water Control
During peak summer months, water use typically rises. Families water their lawns, communities host festivals, and industries increase production to meet seasonal demand. At the same time, power plants often experience some of their heaviest loads of the year as air conditioners run around the clock. For these facilities, efficient water control is essential to cooling systems, treatment processes, and overall energy generation.
That’s where Whipps’ custom-fabricated solutions make a difference. Whether it’s a 900 Series Sluice Gate controlling flow in a reservoir or a 500 Series Stop Log managing water levels during maintenance, each product is designed for precision, durability, and ease of operation. Our gates help ensure that water moves exactly where it’s needed, when it’s needed, to keep systems safe, efficient, and reliable through every season.
Built for Demanding Applications
Whipps products aren’t just built for summer. We design our products to work for the long haul. Our stainless steel and aluminum construction provides the corrosion resistance and strength needed for both everyday operations and extreme conditions. From dams and reservoirs to municipal treatment plants and industrial facilities, our gates are engineered to perform wherever water control is critical.
Just as the seasons change, your water management systems need to evolve, too. That’s why Whipps offers custom solutions tailored to each installation. Our team works closely with customers to design, fabricate, and deliver gates and operators that match the specific flow conditions and structural requirements of the project.
Celebrating Our Team and Community
This summer, Whipps, Inc. also took time to celebrate the people who make everything possible, our employees. At our annual company BBQ, we gathered to enjoy great food and good company, with meals provided by Traveling Bones’ three food trucks and sweet treats from the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream stand. It was a well-deserved afternoon of relaxation and appreciation for the hard work our team puts in year-round.
Beyond our walls, we’re proud to support the community we call home. From sponsoring local initiatives like GAAMHA’s 4th Annual Golf Tournament to volunteering during Athol’s Town Clean-Up Day, Whipps is committed to giving back. Just as our gates keep water flowing where it’s needed, we believe in keeping our community strong through connection, service, and support. We look back at our summer with a smile we can share.
Closing Out the Season
As we enjoy the final stretch of summer such as those last barbecues, pool days, and warm evenings, Whipps, Inc. is proud to play a role in supporting the systems that keep communities comfortable, safe, and prepared. Water control may be working quietly in the background, but it’s at the heart of power generation, clean water access, and infrastructure resilience.
