At Whipps, Inc., our strength lies not only in the products we engineer but also in the people who bring them to life. Recently, we took time to celebrate those people with a memorable employee appreciation BBQ in Western Massachusetts. Hosted on the beautiful property of one of the managers who has been here since the beginning, the event was a reflection of our core values: gratitude, community, and connection.

Events like this aren’t just about having a good time. They’re about showing appreciation in a meaningful, tangible way. At Whipps, Inc., we believe that our employees are part of a larger family. The annual BBQ is one way we give back, not only through food and entertainment but by creating moments for coworkers and their families to bond outside the workplace.
Our managers and the descendants of George Whipps understand that it’s the people behind the machines who make all the difference. Hosting this event on Tim Clark’s property added a genuine personal touch that underscores the respect and gratitude leadership feels toward every member of the Whipps team.

A Day for Families and Friendship
The BBQ took place on a perfect summer day, with cool morning temperatures for setup and warm afternoon sunshine ideal for enjoying ice cream. Starting at noon and wrapping up by 4 p.m., the gathering welcomed employees and their families with open arms. With more than twenty tables set up under a large canopy, there was plenty of room to relax, eat, and connect.
Children enjoyed inflatable bounce houses and an obstacle course that kept them active and smiling. Families took turns with the inflatable axe throwing booth. Adding to the fun, we had chickens, goats, and pigs on site to greet much to the delight of guests of all ages. Food trucks served a variety of delicious meals and treats throughout the afternoon, and by 2 p.m., the line for ice cream was proof that the weather couldn’t have been better.

Looking Ahead, Together
As we look to the future, it’s gatherings like this that remind us why we do what we do. Yes, we manufacture high-quality water control equipment, but more importantly, we’ve built a company culture rooted in care, connection, and community. The annual BBQ was a celebration of that culture and a thank-you to the individuals who make Whipps, Inc. a truly special place to work.
