At Whipps, Inc., we take water control seriously. That’s why our stainless steel slide gates are engineered, fabricated, and tested in-house to exceed industry standards.

In this video, we put one of our gates through an intensive performance test: 100,000 full open-and-close cycles using a digital counter to track every movement. After the final cycle, we applied 20 feet of head (9 PSI) in the unseating direction and measured leakage with precise accuracy.

The results? A leakage rate of just 0.0117 GPM per foot of seal—far below the AWWA stainless steel slide gate standard of 0.05 GPM per foot of seal.

This rigorous testing demonstrates our commitment to quality, reliability, and long-term performance in the most demanding environments.
